The Nursery is Ready!

So after a lot of hard work and time, Jackson's nursery is finally ready! I have to say I am really pleased with the outcome of it, and if you know me, I am really hard to please sometimes! When I found out I was having a boy, the search began for the perfect bedding. Girl stuff was so easy (I liked everything), but for some reason, I did not like most of the boy "themes" or it was really expensive. I really wanted to do baby blue and brown, but when I found the green and brown online, I loved it (and it was in my price range.) I decided to go with some rather expensive furniture, so I decided I couldn't spend a fortune on the bedding. Anyway, I love the varied prints in the bedding, paisely, polka dots and stripes. Then I found a boutique downtown that had adorable artwork, and I fell in love with a piece that has his name, and I got to custom order the colors. I have to say it has been harder finidng decor since I chose a color other than baby blue, but I love it! It has just "a touch of monkey's" which I think is so adorable for a baby boy. Patrick did a phenominal job of taping off the stripes and getting it just right. Although I helped some, I am giving him most of the credit for the awesome paint job.....he's the best and didn't complain once! When he has a project, he likes it to be perfect, and will spend however long it takes. Now all we need is our precious baby boy, and the room will feel complete!

We're Having a BABY!!!

On Decemeber 18, 2008, we found out we were pregnant. It was almost unbelieveable...we took one test on the 17th (which I saw a faint line but somehow told myself I was not pregnant.) Took another test the next day and saw "the line" again, more distinctly this time. I got an apt. for that day, where it was confirmed! I WAS PREGNANT!!!! We were SO excited, yet scared, nervous, and anxious at the same time. After all that we had been through in the past few years of trying to have a baby; losing 2 babies, all the testing, the waiting, the endless bloodwork, countless prayers, etc. we didn't want to get our hopes up....At 9 weeks pregnant, I was released from my fertility specialist as being "normal!" How good that sounded! At 13 weeks I could finally start relaxing (at least a little bit) - things were looking good. Now here it is mid July, and I am going on 34 weeks pregnant. Patrick and I are so excited and feel so blessed that things are finally working out for us and that we are finally getting to start the family we have longed for. Little Jackson Patrick Carrejo will be here very soon...his due date is Aug. 23rd, and I have never wanted anything so bad in my life as I do this precious baby boy we will soon meet. God has blessed us immensely, and we are truly thankful!!!
